Have you ever really taken a moment to sit down and think about the Honda Pilot?  Impressive doesn’t even begin to describe this clever SUV.  With renowned safety, versatility, and efficiency, the Pilot is just short of actually flying.  This SUV is just one of many vehicles that we are proud to carry at Route 23 Honda.

Recently, the Honda Pilot has received numerous accolades, ratings, and awards, which further affirm its value in the automotive industry.  Cars.com named the SUV “Family Car of the Year,” due to its roominess and fuel efficiency.  In addition, it took the top spot in "USA Today, MotorWeek and Cars.com $37k and Under SUV Shootout.”  “What else,” you may ask.  Well, it’s also a Top Safety Pick from The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), and "2011 Lowest Annual True Cost to Own SUV $35K-$45K" from Edmunds.com.

So, if you are looking to make a good decision for your family and leave buyer’s remorse behind, come to Route 23 Honda to snag your new Honda Pilot today.  “Drive” doesn’t really seem to cut it with this one, so we’ll say, “Become a part of the Route 23 Honda Family today, and get ready for take off.”

Don’t you love the Honda Crosstour?  Do you ever find yourself wondering how they could possibly improve it in the years to come?  Well, you’re in luck because the concept unveiled at the New York Auto Show is going to blow your mind!  This luxurious CUV is already one of the most efficient offerings in its class, but Honda is taking things one-step further, improving exterior styling and interior content.

One of the first things you’ll notice about the 2013 Crosstour’s new look is its athletic-looking front end.  In addition to many noticeable exterior revisions, you’ll notice the SUV-like stance they have given the new Crosstour.  It kind of says, “I’m functional and sporty, but also sleek and stylish.”

Safety is always of the utmost importance to Honda, so the new Crosstour is set to earn top scores in that department.   Future Crosstour owners have the option of equipping their new car with Honda’s Lane Departure Warning (LDW) and Forward Collision Warning (FCW).  Both of these systems utilize a camera behind the windshield to detect cars moving out of their lanes unexpectedly or if a potential collision will happen ahead of them.  In addition, the 2013 Crosstour will be the first line of Hondas to receive the LaneWatch blind-spot display, which uses a camera system mounted on the passenger mirror for enhanced view of the roadway.

For all of you techies out there, you’ll be happy to know that all of the 2013 Crosstours will come standard with automatic dimming rearview mirrors, auto-on/off headlights, Bluetooth HandsFreeLink, and USB audio interface. Other available features will include a hard-drive based navigation system, Pandora Internet radio interface, XM satellite radio and an SMS text-to-speech function.

I’m sure that was a lot for you to take in, and maybe you just don’t want to wait until the Fall to test drive and own a new Crosstour.  In that case, drive on over to Route 23 Honda now, to check out the 2012 Crosstour, which has really set the bar high for its successor.  Click hereto check it out in our online showroom!

New technology is going to make your life so much simpler.  The car electronics company, Harman, presented a new idea at the Geneva Motor Show, and it is sure to change the way we think about our phones and our cars.  Using a Dock + Go system, your smartphone will make driving a more personal experience.

In the presentation, Harman first demonstrated the capabilities of Dock + Go with various smartphones’ Near Field Communication.  As each smartphone was placed near the NFC reader in the car, a welcome message specific to that phone appeared on the car’s display.  Information and content ranging from playlists to social media was pulled from the phone without even plugging it in.  The system then used the Aha radio application to access internet radio stations, traffic information, restaurant reviews, and more.

You might think you can do these things right now with Bluetooth, but have you considered how much that drains your phones batteries (not to mention digging out the cable to connect it)?  The main benefit of the system is its Near Field Communication reader, which quickly and effortlessly pairs your phone in the car without killing your phone’s battery.  Smartphone and car integration technology is the way of the future, and at Route 23 Honda, we can't wait!

Luckily for us, we have had a pretty mild winter in our area with warmer than usual weather and very little snow. Although this has been nice, you should still be aware of how your car is running to be prepared for the spring. Follow some of these suggestions and get your car checked out at our service center to make sure your car is in tip top shape for those spring and summer road trips!

First and foremost, you should make sure your battery is working. Winter can be tough on your car, causing your battery to work harder and drain more. Make sure you take note of signs such as slower power windows, dimmer lights, etc.

If your breaks are squeaking, you need to do something about it. Winter weather and salts on the road could potentially deteriorate brake parts. Make sure your breaks are in good shape to optimize your safety.

To even further elaborate on the damage road salts can do, you must also make sure to clean the undercarriage of your car. All the winter debris of the road will get picked up and can corrode the metal parts.

Another part of your car that gets beat by winter conditions are your windshield wipers. The conditions can dry them out, making them ineffective against the higher percentage of rainfall we get during the warmer months. Make sure to replace them if needed!

Last but not least is tire care. Changes in temperature can affect the pressure in your tires. Make sure to keep them inflated to the proper level that is stated in your owner's manual or on the inside of your driver's door. You should also be aware of your tire treads to know if you have a safe amount of grip on the road. You can test this by placing a quarter in one of the grooves. If the head of Washington is covered by the tread, your tires should be at an appropriate level. If you use a penny and Lincoln's head is visible, it's time to think about replacing your tires.

In what seems like a championship year across the entire market for Honda, another vehicle in the fleet has won a very distinctive honor. The 2012 Honda Pilot has been named Cars.com's Family Car of the Year, continuing Honda's streak from the Honda Odyssey winning last year.

So what does Cars.com like about the 2012 Honda Pilot? Well for the first, and most important feature in a family vehicle, it's the spaciousness the Pilot offers. It comfortably fits eight people in three rows of seating. The second row of seats slides back and forth, allowing for more leg room for the second and third rows. The Pilot also has great cargo room with nooks all over the vehicle for everyday storage.

The new sleeker body design for 2012 Pilot also provides that soccer mom or dad with a great looking vehicle for the times they need to leave the kids at home. Also, the abundance of new technology that is now standard with most Honda's, such as blue tooth connectivity and audio streaming, only sweetens the deal.

When it comes to performance, the 2012 has the same interior workings as last years model, except with the always welcomed increase in fuel efficiency and higher level of drive quality. There is more control and less sway that you would expect in a larger SUV.

If all of those great features haven't sold you yet, this same 2012 Pilot also won the Cars.com's SUV Shootout, beating out competitors like the Ford Explorer and Toyota Highlander.

Come see for yourself why this great vehicle is being so highly praised. Route 23 Honda will guide you to the perfect Pilot, packed with everything you need. We also have a great offer going on right now for the 2012 Pilot which you can check out here www.route23hondaoffers.com.

If you have been following the 2012 North American International Auto Show in Detroit like we have, you may have noticed Honda unveiled the concept for the 2013 Accord Coupe. This next generation of automotive genius is at the forefront of keeping Honda at the top of shoppers minds by being fun to drive, exciting to look at and filled with value added extras.

The 2013 Honda Accord Coupe continues to have its eye catching, sporty look, but has evolved into something even sleeker, shown off by the new honeycomb grille and deeper set headlights. There are also a few optional features the will now be available to the Accord that are cutting edge and will enhance vehicle safety following Honda's Safety for All campaign..

The Lane Departure Warning system advises the driver when they are unintentionally leaving their lane, reducing accidents. The blind spot monitoring system is also new to Honda. Cameras placed in the side view mirrors light up and alert you when there is a car is in your blind spot. Other new standard features include the Pandora Radio system and Blue Tooth, introduced in the 2012 CR-V.
The 2013 Accord will feature three new power trains, including a new 2.4 liter engine that is said to produce 181 horse power. Also available will be a plug-in hybrid version reported to have three options to choose from while driving: all electric, gas/electric, and traditional gas powered.

No word yet on when the 2013 Honda Accord will be released, but you can bet we are excited to get it on the lot here at Route 23 Honda. Keep up with us to find out when you can get into your own!

With the release of the 2012 Civic, Honda kept it conservative, which is not a bad thing when it comes to one of the best selling cars, ever. Though similar to last year's predecessor, there all still some big changes, along with some small ones that you may not have known about, until now.

2012 Civic LX Sedan - $149/month!
1) The Civic has 5 different models to choose from, giving a little something for every demographic. Choose from the Civic Sedan, Civic Coupe, the sporty Civic Si (Sedan or Coupe), most fuel efficient Civic HF, and Civic Hybrid.

2) Also available, in some markets, is the Green Car of the Year: 2012, the Honda Civic Natural Gas. This car provides a cheaper fuel alternative that gives off less green house gases.

3) Honda has improved the aerodynamics of the 2012 Civic, adding to fuel efficiency. A new wheel design, smaller grill opening, flat under body, longer hood, and sculpted bumpers all lower the drag coefficient.

4) Each model has shed the pounds as well, ranging from 20-55 less, varying on the model, with the greatest drop in the EX-L (58 pounds less).

5) The new Civic has four more cubic feet of room with 1.6 more inches of back seat leg room. Altogether, the interior feels and looks much more roomier than before.

6) Thinner A Pillars on the windshield increase forward visibility, minimizing those pesky blind spots around curves.

7) Less noise enters the cabin, which may seem like the engine is not working as hard, but trust us, it definitely is. Enjoy a more enjoyable ride and save your ears by being able to lower the tunes, if you want.

8) Upgraded from last year is the plastic interior, adding to the all around aesthetic quality of the car.

9) Comfort should be a top priority in a car, and Honda made sure that this happened in the new Civic. Seats are now more supportive, and the lumbar support is less intrusive. Don't fall asleep at the wheel!

10) Last, but not least, is the addition of a 5-inch screen, called intelligent Multi-Information Display, which displays info such as blue tooth, the trip computer, a clock, and audio functions.

Now that you know what has been upgraded, all you have to decide is what model is right for you. Learn all the other great qualities of each 2012 Civic directly from Honda with this 2012 Honda Civic Brochure

Route 23 Honda has the knowledge and expertise to guide you to the perfect choice. Come down to Route 23 Honda today or visit www.route23hondaoffers.com to check out the $149/month deal on the Civic Sedan!

January 11, 11:07 AM

Since 1983, coincidentally the same year we moved into our newer, larger location, Car and Driver magazine has annually nominated a list of what they consider the top 10 best cars of the year. Over the past quarter century, Honda has blown the competition out of the water, doubling second place holder, Toyota, in the wins column. To add to Honda's consistent dominance, the Honda Accord has claimed 26 of these "Best 10" spots, the most for any car model.  For many years, it seemed as if the Car and Driver articles were written by Honda! Not to be outdone, the Honda Fit has been on the list every year since 2007, and 2012 proves to be no different.

What exactly does Car and Driver like so much about the Honda Accord? For starters, the continued overall excellence in a vehicle. They highlight how this large sedan is "lighter on its feet than many sport coupes," and "when Honda plays to its strengths, it is better than anyone at producing vehicles with a supernaturally fine balance of attributes." The 2012 Accord will get you 33 mpg, so you can have fun driving a car without breaking the bank at the gas pump. The stylish body, entering its 5th model year, still keeps up with its more recently updated competition. Available in both 4 door and coupe options, four cylinder and six, the 2012 Honda Accord satisfies the conservative family type or the car owner looking for a double take as they cruise down the highway.

Now in its 6th year on the list, the Honda Fit is still the favorite in its subcompact class. With more competition in this category than ever, this type of consistency shows Honda's commitment to making every vehicle the best it can be.  "Overall, the Fit is not just a triumph over other small cars, it's a triumph of engineering," says Car and Driver. They love the spacious interior of such a small car, and go on to mention how much cargo space you can achieve thanks to the lay-flat rear seating, "57 cubic feet of cargo volume - 13 more than you'll get if you flop the back row in a Ford Explorer." The Fit is a fuel efficient, price efficient, little ball of fire that you can whip around the streets with confidence.  It's huge considering it's so small.

Route 23 Honda continues to see the quality and value Honda has always been know for, and want you to make your own personal assessment . Schedule a test drive with us and see for yourself why the 2012 Honda Accord and Honda Fit belong among the car industry's best.  Inventory has returned to pre-Tsunamai levels and good availablity exists on both models.

Visit us at www.route23honda.com for more information on these vehicles.

I took a 2012 Ridgeline Sport home the other night. It was not what I expected. True to its name, it is a Sport - appealing to outdoor, mountain bike, and ATV enthusiasts. It is not a Limited or an EX or an Si. As you would expect from Honda, the truck is solid. No squeaks or rattles, lots of power, and lots of torque. I don't know the specs, but are they really important? It's the fact that I press the gas pedal and it GOES that I notice.

The buttons and knobs have a cool, rough, trucky feel and look, but they are not where I, as a lifetime Honda driver, would expect them. The headlights are to the left of the steering wheel on the instrument panel. I kept twisting the left stalk, the traditional Honda headlight control, and turning the windshield wipers on. Lately, most Hondas have been equipped with Auto on/off headlights - not the case here. I've also become accustomed to automatic climate control - set it and forget it - not on the Sport either. I also might have thought, Compass? No. Outdoor temperature? No. I think this is a miss for Honda. I know they wanted to make this a sharp, sporty, and affordable truck. I didn't expect the leather, heated seats, or sunroof at the $30,000 price point and indeed you don't get it. XM radio is also not an option.
Stop by Route 23 Honda to take a test drive!
www.route23honda.com

I really like the black trim on the headlights and taillights. The black theme contintues on the door handles, mouldings, big alloy wheels (I don't know what size - BIG though). The Sport comes with all weather mats as you would expect. Key-less entry, easy foldaway rear seats, adjustable tilt wheel, MP3 jack are all standard equipment as is the really cool "in the bed locking trunk." It includes the towing hitch and cargo lights. This truck is a stunner. I had people looking at me wherever I went. The unique grill with the red "SPORT" lettering gets some second looks too. The kids love the privacy of the dark tinted windows. We all took advantage of the dual power outlets, using one for our GPS and the other for a phone charger. The center console provides ample storage and includes two good sized cup holders. You could easily keep a burger and fries tucked neatly within its confines.

A couple of must have accessories are the hard tonneau cover (looks really cool with the whole black theme), the door visors, and black rectangular running boards. Bottom line, for a Ridgeline priced toward the bottom of its trim levels, the Sport model brings a lot of style and substance to the table. While leaving some of today's toys and luxuries behind, Honda is able to bring 4WD, V6 power, hot looks, towing capacity, and all around utility to a mid sized pickup, all for around $30,000.

Aftermarket Drives Honda’s 2012 Civic Plans at SEMA

When the 2012 Honda Civic design debuted at Detroit’s North American International Auto Show, a portion of the ninth-generation’s car crowd could possibly be heard yawning to what they deemed more of a mild redesign. The underwhelming styling has apparently cut into the reputation for the new Civic regardless to the fact there is no indications core Honda aspirations of quality and value is unaffected. Perhaps caught off-guard by the rush of considerable advancement of competitor’s compact cars, the 2012 Honda Civic’s debut might not have been the thriller the Japanese auto brand is seeking.
While there will be no shortage of loyal Civic buyers eventually upgrading to the ninth-generation car, others left under-stimulated by the new compact vehicle will find the three creations based on the 2012 Honda Civic a reason for exhilaration.

Bisimoto 2012 Honda Civic Si Coupe

A modified sport compact theme designated as a straight-liner performer, the Bisimoto 2012 Honda Civic Si Coupe is maxed out with four-figure horsepower.
The Civic Si edition’s K2427 engine undergoes a drastic retuning by Bisimoto to unleash deep, hidden potential few would expect from an economy car. Arias forged pistons, Supertech valvetrain, NGK Iridium spark plugs and a Golden Eagle intake manifold are some of the mild engine enhancements beefing up the Civic Si Coupe’s 2.4 liter engine for what will be new heights in Honda performance. Supplied by Turbonetics, the Bisimoto 2012 Honda Civic Si Coupe is jarred by an extreme turbocharger and intercooler kit. Requiring racing fuel to run at optimum performance, horsepower for this Bisimoto version of the Honda Civic is estimated in the range of at least 1,004 horsepower. Somewhat surprisingly, the Bisimoto 2012 Honda Civic Si is advertised as street legal.
Wearing a Gatorwrap custom body wrap with Type 2 graphics, Bisimoto adds exterior body improvements to the 2012 Honda Civic Si Coupe available through their Extreme Dimensions collection. Eins Gramm 18-inch aluminum wheels on high performance Falken tires allow the 1000-plus horsepower Bisimoto 2012 Honda Civic Si Couple and its race-spec chassis to sail across pavement. A Steen roll cage shields the car’s interior featuring Buddy Club P1 racing seats.

Honda 2012 Civic Si Coupe HFP

Presented at the 2011 SEMA Show, Honda has made it easier for racers to prove the seemingly shy 2012 Civic does have the soul for demonstrating performance-oriented driving. The first of what will be only 500 United States-bound street worthy kits available for 2012 Civic Si Coupes, auto racing play a part in a factory-backed equipment grouping.
Developed by Honda Performance Development (HPD), the Honda Factory Performance (HFP) limited edition kit is a most comprehensive assortment of race-ready pieces. Starting with a full HFP body kit engineered for superior aerodynamics, the exterior pieces come in one of seven body matching colours. The entire HPD Civic Si Coupe is 15 millimeters (0.59 inches) lower in overall ride as high-performance springs and dampers is designed to provide well-suited handling as well as balance. The HFP edition 2012 Honda Civic Si Coupe rides on 18-inch HFP alloy wheels. HFP emblems are included on the HPD 2012 Civic Si Coupe is carpeted floor mats illuminated by red ambient lighting.

Fox Marketing 2012 Civic Si Coupe

A design firm with a main focus for preparing promotional material for businesses, Fox Marketing has been making a name for itself after customizing 69 vehicles before the 2011 SEMA Show. Becoming Fox Marketing’s 70th automotive design project, their 2012 Honda Civic Si Coupe show car beams with Ultrasonic Blue Pearl beauty. A combination of 18 aftermarket suppliers and partners, the Fox Marketing 2012 Honda Civic Si Coupe enhances the essence of the compact coupe. Outfitted with aftermarket side skirts as well as front and rear bumper covers, the CarBodyKits.com look provides a sporty but sophisticated look. Sourced from Vossen Wheels, CV3 brushed aluminum 20-Inch wheels are equipped on the Fox Marketing 2012 Honda Civic Si Coupe encapsulated in Toyo tires. Yonaka Ronin Black leather seats and a custom rear leather seat are found inside of the sport compact show car wearing Si inserts.
Under the hood of the Fox Marketing 2012 Civic Si Coupe, the Honda 2.4 liter four-cylinder engine has a wide array of racing-caliber components. A BorgWarner EFR turbocharger (a forced-air unit identical to that equipped on Honda‘s 2012 INDYCAR powerplant) is combined with an intercooler in an effort to truly let the engine belt some serious performance numbers. Combined with a cat-back exhaust and some high-flow fuel injection parts, the Fox Marketing 2012 Honda Civic Si Coupe produces over 450 horsepower.

Tjin Edition 2012 Honda Civic Si Sedan

Unlike the other three leading 2012 Honda Civic SEMA Show vehicles, the Tjin Edition has customized a sedan version of the popular compact car.
While a Magnaflow exhaust system and Nitrous Express performance-boosting unit is fitted to the Tjin Edition 2012 Honda Civic Si Sedan, changes exercised on this vehicle are more well rounded. Featuring a front bumper and rear spoiler acquired from Unique Fabrication, the Tjin Edition 2012 Honda Civic Si Sedan is covered with a Wraptivo custom wrap. The exterior details are accented by a Thule roof rack on the modified 2012 Civic. Taking a radical, non-conformist approach to design, the Tjin Edition 2012 Honda Civic Si Sedan most notable distinguishing item from other custom SEMA creations rests within Falken tires. Mismatched colouring for the RotiForm 19-inch wbeels sees orange used on the driver side and purple on the passenger side.
Inside, leather seating and inserts from LR Interiors decks out the cabin area. Realm Audio supplies the Tjin Edition 2012 Honda Civic Si Sedan with improved stereo sound through speakers, dual amplifiers and subwoofers. For cases when a baby’s lullaby is pumping out of the Tjin Edition 2012 Honda Civic Si Sedan‘s speakers, a young child rides in Recaro baby seats.

ASIMO makes its debut at the 2011 FIRST Championship
Honda's ASIMO, the world's most advanced humanoid robot, made its debut at the FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Championship in St. Louis, Mo. ASIMO, which stands for Advanced Step in Innovative Mobility, is a culmination of more than two decades of research and development by Honda engineers. Designed to someday assist people in their homes, ASIMO is being used today to encourage and inspire young students, like those involved in the FIRST robotics programs, to consider studies in math and science.
